The new Maxalto Dike bed is distinguished by the unusual size of the headrest, which is a distinguishing element creating a new category of furniture. Antonio Citterio imagined two panels, each 2 meters high and 125 cm wide, ending with two movable elements, attached with an elegant hinge along the entire height. The headrest becomes a theater backdrop or a design element that becomes even more refined thanks to the upholstery. Dike uses an ad hoc designed fabric with an enhanced three-dimensional and visible texture, similar to a woven tapestry with horizontal stripes, creating visual effects of light and color that gently flow into each other. The height of the bed is significant and corresponds to the precise bedroom concept. The structure of the bed and headboard can be upholstered with fabrics from the collection. It is a new, luxurious and refined series, hyperbolic but extremely calibrated, soft and rational, which underlines Maxalto's renewed desire for perfection and originality.
