Product description
Minimalist and sincere, yet elegant and filigree: the 118 chair is a classic wooden chair that will add subtle elegance to any table or restaurant. The principle of limiting a chair to the fewest possible elements was introduced by Michael Thonet in the mid-19th century. The 118 chair is a further development that takes into account the company's heritage and goes a step further.
Sebastian Herkner added refined details that make the design less dominant and at the same time even more noble. Another special feature is the shape of the chair's legs: they are rounded at the back, and at the front, delicate edges create a kind of bend that refers to the shape of the horseshoe-shaped seat. The bent seat frame and the hand-made seat covered with wicker cane refer to the original archetype of Thonet's chair no. 2. 214. Chair 118 is optionally available with a molded seat.
