Product description

First produced in 1876, model no. Model 18 with a striking "pin" in the backrest returns to Thonet's portfolio with a bright and reduced aesthetic as model 218. Together with chairs no. 14 and no. 56, chair no. 18 was one of Thonet's best-selling models. The so-called Gebrüder Thonet export chair was often sold for use in restaurants and cafes - especially in South America. Divided into individual parts, 36 chairs fit into a sea chest, so the chairs can be easily shipped in large quantities on long journeys. Now 218 – formerly no. 18 – is once again created in Frankenberg.
