Product description
Shibari is a flexible fabric or leather armchair with armrests designed by Studiopepe for Visionnaire. The upholstery is made of recycled wool. Throughout history, the knot has had many different meanings, including sacred and religious symbolism. In Egypt, it represented life: the knot of Isis signified immortality and divine love. The endless knot is one of the oldest figures used in Buddhist symbolism in China and Tibet, but also in remote geographical zones, to express a sense of endless devotion. Tying and knot means connecting, connecting two objects, bringing them closer together in a harmonious progression. Since ancient times, the knot has had a clear meaning of connection and commitment between two people. This meaning is immediately associated with love, precisely to emphasize the inseparable nature of the bond. This symbol carries the meaning of eternity and faithfulness. A properly made knot will not come undone, opening and separating the two objects it holds tightly. Therefore, the bond of love connects two people forever. It is not a loop, not a tight restriction, but an interwoven connection, representing a sense of give and take, of help in times of need. It is a soft knot that connects without coercion. Stretched horizontally, it reminds us of the infinity symbol: what better way to represent eternal love?
