new addition to the BD "cabinet" collection. A furniture typology that was lost at the end of the last century and that in the last few years we wanted to recover with the same purposeful functionality of the container, but with a different character. Separate cabinets to suit each design: Multileg (Jaime Hayon), Tout va Bien (Antoine et Manuel), Free Port (Martí Guixé).
Very few pieces allow for interventions with so much personality without depriving them of the function for which they were created. They turn into sculptures in the dining room or in the hotel lobby. Our collection grows with the arrival of a new cabinet by Doshi Levien - Mumbai-born designer Nipa Doshi and Scottish-born Jonathan Levien - who have quickly transformed into one of the most unique and attractive creative couples on the international scene. This is the second project for BD after the lovely Chandlo.
Called Shanty, it is imagined as a mosaic of undulating surfaces reminiscent of improvised homes around the world, from Brazil to Africa and India. The cabinet collection celebrates the beauty of these seemingly temporary structures. The corrugated cardboard facade gives the impression of a spontaneous composition of different colored surfaces, concealing a rational and carefully thought-out storage space.
