Product description

Uoc is an upholstered chair available in three colors of Amkunj fabric. Amkunj fabric has been specially selected for the upholstered office chair to fit the size and contours of the chair.
Amkunj is a 100% yarn dyed linen fabric that combines functional practicality with a simple yet refined form. The luxurious linen fiber is woven in a basic plain weave with a high warp density. Old, slow-moving looms are used to weave the fabric. This yarn is dyed with Zanava's signature vat dyeing technique, during which the yarn is subjected to successive immersions in a dye bath, resulting in a uniform color with varying subtle depths. Then the fabric is gently washed, during which the fibers fuse together, obtaining a unique aesthetic.
The Easy upholstered armchair/Zanav collection can be ordered in two wood finishes - Stripped Black (Z3) and Walnut (Z4). Both finishes were developed by us especially for the Zanav collection. The Stripped Black (Z3) finish is achieved by spraying the wood with a water-based black paint and then removing the black paint with a steel brush and sandpaper until only black streaks remain in the wood grain patterns. The walnut finish (Z4) is achieved by hand staining the wood with a water-based walnut stain and then hand applying a coat of sealer. As part of our research into handmade, natural Indian upholstery fabrics, we collaborated with textile company Zanav Home to adapt their fabrics to our upholstery. Several months of intensive experimentation and prototyping with Zanav fabrics led to the creation of a sub-collection of upholstered chairs from elements of our Chandigarh Project. The three chair models in this collection are made of carefully selected cotton, linen, silk and cotton-linen blends, created by Zanav in cooperation with communities of traditional weavers. The fabrics have been thoroughly tested for use and durability of the upholstery. Wood finishes have been specially developed to match selected fabrics.
