Product description
Zenca's design is inspired by water tanks on the roofs of New York. With this in mind, Gaspar created a contemporary form referring to industrial aesthetics. The light source is surrounded by a lampshade with a diameter of 44 cm and a height of 28 cm. On the outside, its texture enriches the volume and it appears to be made of metal, specifically zinc, a material traditionally associated with storage tanks, and as with the tanks, even the joints protrude. However, it is manufactured from two-layer rotomolded polyethylene. Its interior is covered with a white layer thanks to which the light reflects, emanates and attracts the eye. And this is where the contrast arises: the exterior is available in several colors - blue, gray, off-white, red, light pink and light yellow - while the interior is always white.
A simple design reminiscent of a round house, an archetype of basic shapes that also work together together, in different heights and colors, offering many lighting possibilities. Walking in New York means looking up and wanting to discover where the skyscrapers end. On his last trip to this city, Joan Gaspar looked around the rooftops of New York and there, seeing water tanks, he found the shape for this new project. A unique element that is part of the city's panorama. Water tanks have been a mark of New York's identity since the early 19th century, and not only are they still there, but surprisingly, they are still installed to serve the same function.
