Cloudy is much more than a large-format hanging lamp, bordering on art, it resembles a magnificent contemporary luminous sculpture, dominating the space with its strong installation power and excellent stage presence. “I believe that creating something as big as a cloud is every designer's dream!” Says Dima Loginoff "and Axolight made design and construction possible!"
The name Cloudy tells the story of an original inspiration, developed by multiplying and combining spherical elements of different sizes. “Although Cloudy seems to be a random combination, it is the result of a careful study of volumes and dimensions in order to obtain a balanced set, playing with the asymmetric arrangement of its parts,” says Giuseppe Scaturro, CEO of Axolight.
The spherical elements contain LED light sources that they emit a soft and cozy light.
Each element scatters the same amount of light, which is an especially complex effect considering that the five spheres are divided into four different dimensions.
The translucent, flexible fabric completely covers the composition, additionally smoothing the light dispersion and giving the whole thing a uniform character.
"I always thought of Cloudy as a large object composed of individual elements connected to each other using a thin shell," says the designer . “At first it was just a poetic metaphor, but Axolight took it seriously, starting real research into flexible facade fabrics to find the best technical solution and make all the original inspirations tangible.”
Through his presence on the scene, Cloudy is able to independently furnish even a large public or private space. When used in a composition, it enhances its scenographic effect, creating a real light sculpture.
