variation on an essentially spherical form, the Bubble Lamp series is a distinctive and timeless design by George Nelson. The Nelson Pear Bubble pendant lamp has an accentuated glow towards the center and gently floats above the head. This hanging lamp is available in two sizes: small and medium. In 1952, a set of Swedish pendant lamps were introduced to the American market, and George Nelson was so impressed that he wanted them in his office. The high price at the time prevented him from purchasing one, but it also inspired him to design his own. As a result, a series of lamps with elementary, spherical shapes was created, such as: a rounded apple, an elongated cigar or a shapely pear.
