The levers are designed for continuous use. Pushed, turned and jostled every day - both in private homes and commercial buildings, government offices and cultural centers. From the curvature of the handle to the 21 ball bearings that roll against each other behind our rose lever, to the durable materials, with which they are made, we have always believed that each element of each design has equal importance in creating the whole. Each lever in the Knud Holscher collection is made of AISI 316 steel. AISI 316 is an acid-resistant, non-corrosive marine quality stainless steel - solid, a raw and durable substance whose strength and resistance do not diminish. Both internally and externally, every detail of each d line handle has been rigorously tested for trouble-free operation and durability. Then, using the most modern machinery in our industry, each one is expertly handcrafted. Danish architect and industrial designer Knud Holscher has been part of d line from the beginning, creating our first coordinated line of architectural fittings in 1971 as a "modest design designed to last". As a result of this frustrating exercise, Holscher designed a series of award-winning, minimalist architectural fittings for d line, starting with the iconic U and L levers, whose distinctive curve influenced the entire product range.
