Living Box, designed by Vincent Van Duysen: starting from a typically architectural project, such as a building, a concert and conference stage or a monumental space, Vincent Van Duysen reduced its scale, transforming it into a household object with specific characteristics and possibilities for new uses.
Living Box was designed as an independent piece of furniture, suitable for use in any room in the house, but above all for the living room. Despite its reduced size, it retains the rigor and monumentality of the building from which it comes, emphasizing its details using high-quality materials. Living Box is a low but large (230, 280, 330, 380) rectangular container without doors, in which the outside and inside contrast with each other through the use of different materials. The countertop has marble and various types of wood, specially arranged to decorate the surface. The whole thing is enclosed in a tin-screen frame, seen from above, resembling a thread when viewed from the front, creating a thick profile surrounding the internal space.
The tabletop can be adjusted and integrated with supporting strips, which is useful for enabling all kinds of connections between equipment multimedia, televisions or lighting equipment. The remaining part of the countertop can be left free or used to display artistic or personal decorations.
The internal space resembles a "magic cave" and hides many surprises. The wood used, including eucalyptus and the new Sunrise Oak finish, are the cladding materials used that completely surround and define the perimeter.
Excellent lighting is provided by LED diodes. The interior space is completely free and free of sharp corners thanks to special curved corners. The space created in this way allows for any exhibition of any type of object. If this scenographic solution does not suit the purpose, you can add one or more subdued and elegant drawer sets with a screen and tin or wood finish, characterized by a subdued and elegant appearance. They occupy free space, hiding what is useful, but preferably invisible.
The drawer sets are free-standing and can be placed in any part of the room, which allows for many configurations: small architectural elements in a larger shell.
The system complements technical tape container, designed to meet the specific requirements related to the world of video - HIFI equipment.
