In the beginning there were rocks, shaped by wind and water, veined stones, perfectly arranged or placed by nature. Then, as organic shapes inspired artistic forms, we saw monoliths like Barbara Hepworth and the abstract paintings of Serge Poliakoff. From the same line comes the new Pearson Lloyd project, a modular system inspired by natural shapes and artistic allusions, intended for collective use. Ischia consists of a series of individual elements that can be freely combined: the seats can be single or double, with or without a backrest. The system also offers the option of adding a table or a screen made of woven cane, thanks to which a given area will be separated and hidden. The components have an essential character, with soft shapes and diagonal lines, balanced by the strong finishes of the wooden or marble bases that connect them.
