Product description

The upholstered armless sofa is a re-edition of a two-and-a-half-seater model created for the construction of halls in Chandigarh in the 1950s. Our reissue is true to the dimensions and exterior form of the original design, with improvements to the design elements and quality of materials to create a chair that is built to last. The outer leg and crossbars are made of solid teak, while the inner frame is made of pine. High-quality premium polyurethane foam in a carefully calibrated density combination is used to ensure perfect ergonomic seating comfort. We offer the Easy armchair made of selected velvets and woolen fabrics, the number of abrasions reaching nearly 100,000. The Chandigarh project is our tribute to Indian modernism, style and philosophy of creation, which manifested itself in Chandigarh in the 1950s. Our reissues of mid-century designs employ the same craftsmanship and manufacturing philosophy that has been practiced for three decades in Chandigarh. The nuances and details that make these designs unique - wedge joints, curves, grooves - have been preserved, while improving the structural and material elements. The natural rattan cane used to make the seats and backrests is peeled and woven by hand by highly skilled weavers, similar to vintage pieces.
