Product description

The X+L 05 single-seat modular sofa is part of a modular sofa set consisting of single upholstered units that are available without arms, with one arm (left or right) and with both arms - which can be used in various combinations to create a single-seat, two-seat sofa or three-seater (shown in the image at the bottom of this page). Each device has a seat cushion and a pair of backrest cushions. The sofas are designed to be wide and spacious, and provide plenty of space for comfortable relaxation.
The X + L 05 modular sofa is upholstered in a cotton and linen blend called Andaman, manufactured by Zanav Home. Andaman fabric is produced by hand and the final weave is made on traditional power looms. The fabric is dyed using a vat dyeing process in which yarn is manually fed into and out of a vat containing dissolved dyes, causing continuous reduction and oxidation deep into the fiber until the desired color is achieved. The yarn accepts the dye differently, resulting in the subtle color inconsistency that is a hallmark of the vat dyeing process. The photo of a single-seater vehicle shown above shows fabric from an Andaman plantation. The legs and backrests of the sofas are made of Burma teak.
