Product description

Fjord H is a sleigh-shaped chair. The housing is a multi-layer technopolymer; the base is made of satin stainless steel. From a piece of shell that was broken and smoothed by the waves, Patricia Urquiola designed a collection of seats for both home and public spaces. As the name suggests, there is a strong Scandinavian influence here, with references to Arne Jacobsen and the bays of the northern coast shown in a long cross-section. Like the natural cycle in which the shell is reborn under the influence of time and water, the chair becomes an armchair and then a stool. Its broken form and abstract concept together become the subject of the design: the smooth lines that support and surround are emphasized with decorative stitching harmonizing with the essence of the chair's structure.
