The Koinè family of lamps designed by the Mandalaki studio for Luceplan has been expanded, in constant pursuit of the perfect balance between technology, elegance and purity of form. The core of the design is still the light source, which requires a specially designed mineral lens. The light flux transmitted through the lens is uniform and clean, and the light cone is wide and at the same time has clear contours. The border of light and shadow becomes precise, without mixing. By carefully directing the light, Koinè never causes reflections, thus ensuring complete lighting comfort.
A reflector is a cap that plays a mainly decorative role. The geometry of the ceiling tile refers to the geometry of the diffuser. Koinè is available in three sizes (diameter 37, 55 and 110 cm) and the height of the device is always limited.
News for Salone 2022 include the addition of the colors white, red and blue, in addition to the original black. In addition to high technological and light performance, Koinè offers a sound-absorbing version (another novelty for Salone 2022) and adds another innovative function. The reflector becomes a cap made of 60% recycled felt, an effective aesthetic effect that helps improve acoustic comfort in rooms by reducing reverberation and the propagation of sound waves. Inside, the aluminum part complements the surface and supports the felt, while dissipating heat from the light source.
