Liiu is a new, lightweight and flexible pendant lamp system, the result of Luceplan's bold research to create efficient lighting designs whose main feature is an ethereal, poetic overall image.
The basic structure consists of electrified metal cables attached to the ceiling and held in constant tension by counterweights.
The lamp bodies are placed on the cables by two very light arms supporting the light head and having a spiral at the end. Assembly is simple and quick, and the gesture sums up the essence of the design. The cables are wrapped around the rigid spiral of the arms in such a way that the lamp structure, in addition to the mechanical task of supporting the weight of the light sources, also transmits current to the LED module located inside the device head. The weight effect allows the light parts to remain in contact with the cables, ensuring continuous power. The light spreads through a conical diffuser, creating a soft, almost ethereal effect without ever being excessive.
Further proof of the system's technical excellence is the way the glowing parts run along the electrified cables, directing the light where it is needed while changing product configuration. In this way, users can activate a design that is constantly transforming, depending on the angle of observation.
Liiu is the perfect combination of the spectacular effect of many configurations and their lightness, between functionality and elegance, a minimalist image, between the dynamics of forms and their stability . It is a modular system that can be translated into ready-made or personalized forms, revealing its versatility and adaptability to different settings: whether it takes on the character of a sumptuous chandelier, a luminous wall or a reading lamp, Liiu never loses its sculptural nature and its special ability to always create a unique, new and dreamy atmosphere.
