Developed for HAY by Shane Schneck, the Tamoto bed is designed with multifunctionality in mind, so it can be easily and intuitively integrated into a modern lifestyle. Tamoto's design is influenced by the draped quality of kimono sleeves, which inspired Shane's innovative use of foldable material on the bed frame. The soft, draped headboard is balanced by an oversized tubular steel frame, creating a contemporary and comfortable sofa bed hybrid that is not just intended for sleeping, but also as a base for reading, working, watching TV and other activities. With a flat, easy-to-install design, removable headrest cover and recyclable materials, functionality has been considered at every stage of the design process. Available in a variety of sizes and selected soft textiles, the Tamoto is a versatile bed that suits most bedrooms and decor styles. HAY recommends using standard bed slats and standard mattresses with the Tamoto bed for an optimal, complete solution.
