The DW 02 bookshelf stands out for its special workmanship and clean, practical design. The shelf has minimal vertical and horizontal parts; uses traditional hand skills and hidden carpentry methods to join the wood and does not use mechanical fasteners.
The shelf is available in two sizes - a smaller one with two posts and a larger version with three posts. Compact shelves are adaptable, easy to accommodate and suitable for a variety of spaces, large and small. They are perfect for storing books or decorative items.
Finishes:
We offer this product in a Natural Teak or Black finish. For the Natural Teak finish, the wood is sanded smooth and a soft cloth is applied with a clear polishing compound and sealer to bring out the natural golden brown color of the teak. In the case of Black Finish, the wood is sprayed with an ecological water-based paint that leaves visible grain and patterns. The Derek Welsh Collection (DWC) will be an ongoing series of handcrafted, fine wooden objects, created using classic woodworking techniques. The collection celebrates Welsh's expertise in traditional joinery and passion for clean, practical design. The first product from the collection is the DW 01 stool, which will soon be joined by a shelf and a chair.
