Product description

Drop is a plexiglass table with a top created from a large sheet of cast GS® plexiglass (2000x3000mm and 70mm thick) using a 5-axis numerically controlled machine. The process takes over 30 hours and includes two rough cutting operations and three finishing operations, followed by a further two smoothing procedures, and then three polishing procedures (using abrasive paste, polishing wax and finishing paste), all performed by hand and requiring a further 20 hours work.
Holes enabling the legs to be inserted into the table top are made on a CNC machine by interpolation. The legs are made using 3 cast GS Plexiglas® cylinders, machined to form a recessed section into the table top, then hand smoothed and polished. All three resulting legs are different due to the different angles at which they are inserted and positioned. All of them are perfectly and seamlessly integrated into the total volume of the table.
