INSPIRED BY LIVING DIVANI
Founded in the province of Como in 1969 by Luigi and Renata Bestetti, Living Divani is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of interior and exterior furniture. From the very beginning, when the founders took over the Milan upholstery workshop, Living Divani showed a strong inclination towards innovative and cutting-edge design. After working with Roche Bobois, who designed the company for the French and Canadian markets, Piero Lissoni became the artistic director at the end of the 1980s. The collaboration with the architect is a turning point for Living Divani, which is included in the ranks of the internationally recognized Italian companies of excellence associated with the Altagamma Foundation. The Living Divani catalog offers a complete range of upholstered products for the living environment, from sofas to seating, but also tables and accessories including rugs, bedroom furniture, entrance and outside. Living Divani products are characterized by recognizable aesthetics, given by basic design, discreet elegance and workmanship that combines craftsmanship and technological innovation.
Living Divani's iconic products, timeless eleganceLiving Divani made its debut by offering on the market essentially a catalog of upholstered furniture , sofas and armchairs, becoming an industry leader in just a few years. The collaboration with Piero Lissoni gave life to the products that have now appeared on Olympus among design icons, such as the Calibano line, the company's debut product. The sofa, armchair and pouffe are now classics, and the sober design, being halfway between tradition and innovation, dictated the trends of the nineties.
In 1995, the Frog collection of armchairs and armchairs, produced to this day, appeared. The Frog armchair, the ancestor of the series, is made of a chrome-plated or powder-coated steel frame in brown gray, polished, RAL - K7 9010 white or RAL - K7 9017 black and on request in a satin matte finish AISI 316 stainless steel. the seat is upholstered with quilted fabric or leather. The spacious dimensions of the seat, slightly inclined and supported on low legs, guarantee maximum comfort, and the air and essential structure gives it elegance. The collection includes Carbon Frog garden armchairs made of carbon fiber and Frog garden armchairs with seat and backrest made of woven cellulose or PVC rope.
The Wall collection, presented in 2000 with the base model, is still the company's bestseller to this day. The Removable Wall Sofa can be considered one of the first modular seating systems and consists of several components that allow for endless configurations. The wall is also characterized by simple and essential shapes, in practice parallelepipeds that make up the seats, backrests and armrests, which when combined at will create simple sofas or equipped with a chaise longue, armchairs, poufs, covered with leather or fabric. In addition to the Wall, the Extra Wall was added over time, which offers additional modules and compositional possibilities, Softwall and Extra Soft.
Living Sofas chairs, tables, accessories and garden furnitureAlthough upholstery remains at the center of Living Divani's interest, since 2010 the company has launched several production lines that include chairs, tables, accessories and garden furniture. This revolution is based on the Family Chairs collection, designed by Junya Ishigami, made entirely of steel and powder coated metal mesh in white RAL-K7 9016. The collection of Rabbit & The Tortoise coffee tables, designed by Studio Juju, includes 7 garden and indoor tables with various shapes and sizes, and is characterized by curved and irregular geometries. A sheet of steel only 3 mm thick is laser cut and rests on thin tubular steel legs. As for the bedroom, Piero Lissoni recently signed the design of a Floyd-Hi double bed, again proposing the minimalist canons of matrix aesthetics, typical of his unique style. Another new addition to the Living Divani catalog is the Islands double-sided sideboard by Stephen Burks, an open-air container that can be accessed around its perimeter thanks to vertical swivel straps. The Flap table-container collection, born from the idea of Studio Klass, combines functionality and aesthetics thanks to ingenious lids that provide access to the space underneath. The Sailor bookcase, designed by David Lopez Quincoces, is inspired by the nautical world and is made of floor-to-ceiling steel columns to which shelves are attached, characterized by a curved bottom edge. The range of accessories has been entrusted to the imagination of emerging designers such as Harry Paul, who has designed colorful rugs such as the Sin Titulo or Mist-o line with his patterned rugs; or the Light With a Table floor lamp designed by Keiji Takeuchi and the Aero entrance cabinet by Shibuleru.
