Doge is a rectangular table with a metal base and a glass or marble top.
A sculptural structure that became a symbol of Italian design, a hallmark of the new ultra-rational movement, which in the late 1960s considered throwing off the constraints of rationalism and returning to traditional aesthetic values.
For the Doge table, Carlo Scarpa adopts an innovative approach to shapes and sizes, oriented towards an image of strength and character, facilitated by the author's extraordinary ability to combine materials of different scales.
The architectural base of thick, flat aluminum or steel profiles constitutes the core of this iconic table with a glass top, where the refined elegance of the base plays the main role, seen through the glass top.
