Ponti 969 is a beech chair with a curved plywood backrest and a seat upholstered in leather, artificial leather or fabric, designed by Gio Ponti.
Ponti 969 is a redesign of the original armchair already presented at the 6th Milan Triennale in 1936, designed by the same author, one of the greatest representatives of Italian culture of the 20th century.
Since 2015 in the BBB Icon Chairs collection, as an eternal icon of Italian design, proposed with an original and new finish.
Ponti 969 is a wonderful example of the classic aspirations of the Gio style Ponti, in which several individual elements are combined into a unique combination: the backrest volute is a tribute to the decoration that becomes a structural element, the lower cross below it disturbs the balance of symmetry, creating tension between the rule and the unexpected, the triangular flared legs fall down and up. A style steeped in elegance and uniqueness.
