cozy and comfortable bucket seat, a calming shape with absolutely contemporary details: these are the main features of Guelfo, the wingback designed by Lapo Ciatti. The Guelfo backrest and footstool were launched in 2015 with the aim of giving a new, refined and innovative (sometimes ironic) style to the 18th century French archetype, and like all the other pieces presented this year, they find their source of inspiration in the Middle Ages and process of overcoming common knowledge.
On the one hand, we can find the name Guelfo as a tribute to one of the two opposing factions that built the culture and history of the city of Florence in the Middle Ages, and on the other hand, an ironic use of the aesthetic standards of the past, here contaminated and updated with very contemporary details. A very edgy (and postmodern) way of playing with unusual combinations, such as the idea of combining a mixture of seemingly heterogeneous details and materials, such as capitonné in the upholstery and black nickel in the construction.
The mudguard, like the footrest, can be upholstered with different types of fabrics or leather . Featuring stunning visual impact and stage power, Guelfo is the perfect choice to add a touch of personality to the most exclusive contract environments as well as the best residential areas.
