With the 808 series, the Munich design studio Formstelle has created a lounge chair that combines maximum comfort with numerous customization options. The new 808 lounge chair plays with the contrast between a protective shell and inviting openness, creating a place of retreat and peace. Its distinctive appearance was created thanks to a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic armchair - the shape suggests an elegant cocoon that embraces the person sitting in the chair and communicates a sense of security. Another striking feature is the comfortable upholstery with a pleasant soft wave effect. This inner, padded core creates an intriguing contrast to the angularity of the outer shell. A clever mechanism allows for individual adjustment of the chair's position, and the footrest increases the reach.
The swivel frame of the 808 chair is available in several different versions (wood with bent elements, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel tubes or in various colors). A mechanism hidden inside the armchair allows smooth adjustment of the seat and backrest inclination to a completely relaxing lying position.
The upholstery concept developed by Formstelle exclusively for the 808 lounge chair complements this very detailed and well-thought-out design. The designers, in cooperation with the German textile manufacturer Rohi, created a distinctive fabric for the 808 lounge chair: "Soul" is available in thirteen colors and impresses with new, high-quality wool yarn and a multi-dimensional honeycomb structure that gives the fabric depth. Customers can choose from six different color worlds, each featuring material options in leather, fabric and molded fleece, with matching decorative stitching. An optional writing panel is available for the 809 armchair, useful for writing and storage. A footstool completes the range. An optional neck pillow is also available for added comfort. It can be flexibly positioned thanks to the integrated counterweight, which ensures optimal head support. The pillow is available in many covers - from fabric to leather - so it can serve as a colorful, contrasting accent or blend harmoniously with the surrounding seat of a comfortable lounge chair.
