For the B&B Italia 2019 collection, we present Pablo, the new headquarters designed by Vincent Van Duysen. Its strengths are comfort and durability, which together create effective aesthetic and structural solutions. Pablo has a double layer of leather with a light seat padding that is barely visible but provides comfort. The attractive shape is defined by the emphasized depth and slightly inclined front: Pablo proposes new proportions, calibrated down to the millimeter, that make this seat an innovative meeting place for a small armchair and a chaise longue. The structure wraps around the body and is suspended. It gives the impression of flying because you simply slide it into the backrest and into the armrests. The designer's meticulous attention to detail has found a true ally in the B&B Italia Research and Development Center, which understands that the most important products require a lot of work and special care. The result is noticeable in the constant play between straight and curved lines, the relationship between the lightness of the wood, the strength of the rawhide and the vertical shape of the structural elements softened by the curved section. Like a suspension bridge or a flying carpet, this delicate object creates a new visual and perceptual balance that is elegant and comfortable.
