shell, almost a capsule, that holds and protects without closing. The Martha armchair, designed by Roberto Lazzeroni for Poltrona Frau, fulfills the difficult task of combining comfort and lightness.
Soft forms and contrasting materials provide an airy, relaxed, modern elegance.
The design of the Martha armchair is based on the meeting of two main elements frames, both made of molded rigid polyurethane. The seat and armrests form part of one sinuous, open profile, the two ends of which protrude outwards. The curved and lightly padded backrest appears to be floating in the air, but is actually attached to the frame by a hidden system. The whole thing is supported on a wooden easel structure with a triangular cross-section. The slight backward tilt of the seat ensures optimal comfort and emphasizes the dynamic design of the chair. The four-legged base is made of solid ash available in Wengé and Moka finishes.
Color effects and material combinations emphasize Marta's fluidity and lightness. The outside of the frame is upholstered in rich Saddle Extra Leather, while the interior can be covered with leather or Pelle Frau® fabric. The combination of both materials emphasizes elegant, hand-sewn in visible contrast. The product is completed with a soft seat cushion with a removable cover made of leather or Pelle Frau® fabric.
