Jean-Marie Massaud designed the Archibald Gran Comfort with a completely new interpretation of the Archibald design, of which it offers a refined and informal version.
The central element is the large seat cushion: a luxurious and soft leather bag with abundant goose down padding contrasts with the architectural style of the steel frame chairs. The four legs, also made of steel, create an interesting visual counterpoint to the richness of the pillow. Extremely thin and light, they give the impression of being sketched with a pencil.
The quilted seat and backrest padding made of goose down increases the softness of the armchair. The overall impression is given by the combination of various elements in a natural way, creating a seat with
intended large and friendly proportions.
The removable upholstery is available exclusively in the new Pelle Frau® Safari leather, much thicker and more solid with a much clearer grain in comparison for other leathers from the Poltrona Frau collection. Its textured appearance perfectly highlights the great elegance of Archibald Gran Comfort. The finish is decorated with raw cut leather, hand-painted and carefully finished with contrasting stitching, like luxury leather goods.
The steel frame and feet have a Ruthenium finish, and the suspension of the beech seat is provided by elastic straps that run along the outer edge of the steel-framed backrest, ensuring an additional element of comfort.
