two-seater sofa upholstered with fabric from the ARP collection, designed by Sebastian Herkner for Linteloo. The German-French artist Jean (Hans) Arp (1886-1966) saw the need for silence in man and feared its disappearance from the modern world: "Silence will soon become a legend. The man turned away from the silence. In 1942, he dedicated one of his most famous sculptures, "Sculpture de Silence, Corneille", to the virtue of peace. Its rounded shape and the ideas underlying it inspired Sebastian Herkner to design the modular and versatile ARP collection: soft, harmonious and indeed visually "quiet".
