Product description
Arcolor is a modular system designed around the classic geometry of the arch, which uses a disciplined use of the arch from the beginning to create something more organic. To develop the new Arcolor sofa for Arflex, Jaime Hayon wanted to create a modular system designed around the classic arc geometry. While many modern modular systems can be quite square in appearance – to enhance their modularity in a variety of configurations – Hayon has from the beginning employed a disciplined use of the arc to create something more organic. Consistency in this approach applies even to the legs whose arches touch the ground. The strong coherence and rhythmic repetition of form refers to the iconic Roman aqueduct, adapting well to various contexts, both public and private, halls and living rooms. The sofa has a base with legs made of wood, varnished in the colors of the arflex collection, a frame made of metal, and upholstery made of shaped polyurethane of varying density.
