Contemporary, with strong architectural charm and clean lines reminiscent of the mid-century American spirit, the Connery seating system features a unique aesthetic and design that immediately catches the eye. The clever combination of noble materials and refined details adds a couture touch to its design.
An extremely versatile seating system, both in terms of composition and material combination, Overlay has a distinctive personality also expressed in the combination of original square and round chaise lounges.
Thanks to its geometric rigor, the base creates an original contrast with the softness of the seat, conceived as a single cushion interrupted by light stitching defining the width of the seat - 83 or 68 cm - and the structure of the backrest and armrest covered with goose down padding. The backrest and armrest form one unit, with a corner cut at an angle of 45°.
In addition to the fabric covering, the padded structural base can also be covered with leather strips, made using the same technique as in the production of fine leather luggage. References to the concept of high-class leather products can also be found in the headrests and elegant "C"-shaped Flap surfaces, which seamlessly blend into the seating elements, enlivening the compositions with a lively rhythm.
The structural base is raised from the ground on thin blades made of extruded aluminum with a polished Brandy lacquer and placed at the front, giving the sofa an attractive and spacious look and reminiscent of the metal parts of trunks and suitcases.
Flap shelves follow the slatted design of the structural base and make the system functional by offering stylish surfaces for placing items. Covered with leather or Moka ash veneer, they dialogue harmoniously with the texture of the cover.
The leather strips of the structural base, sewn together with strips and marked with stitching that give rhythm to the design, are made with the same technique used in the production of handbags made of fine leather. The same concept of high-end leather goods also inspires the freely adjustable headrests.
