This chair is one of the most recognizable in the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh and can be found in all the offices of the Secretariat. Independent elements, including the inverted "V" side beams supporting the armrests, are all made of solid wood. The woven backrest and seat, stretched over a wooden frame, are common features in the area, as is the use of local wood such as teak. Like the more famous office chair, this armless chair also uses V-shaped side rails, shorter in this case because they do not reach the shoulders. Instead, attention is paid to a seat and backrest sequence in Viennese woven cane, combined with a huge geometric section supported by two wooden profiles and co-planar legs that together are simple yet strong. The Cassina reissue offers a classic teak version and two versions in natural and stained black oak.
