Product description

Marcel Breuer was an apprentice at the Bauhaus when he began experimenting with steel tubes to build a more transparent chair. Inspired by the bicycle frame and influenced by De Stjil's constructivist theories of movement, Breuer reduced the form of the classic club chair to its elemental lines and planes.

Classic KnollStudio design, manufactured to Breuer's original specifications.
Logo KnollStudio and Breuer, Marcel's signature are embossed on the base of the chairs.
AWARDS
Museum of Modern Art Award, 1968.
Recognition for "Work of Art" Germany, 1982.
CONSTRUCTION
Frame is constructed from seamless steel tubing with a polished chrome finish.
Thick cowhide or Spinneybeck and bristle leather strap.
Opaque, plastic, snap-on glides are included for optional insertion when used on hard surfaces floors.
FINISHES
The frame has a polished chrome finish.
Spinneybeck Belting Leather upholstery option is available in a wide range of neutral and light colors.
Spinneybeck Haired Hide upholstery option is available in various characteristic color versions.
