Noonu is an atoll, a corner of pure relaxation among the colors of the Maldives. Noonu is also the name of the new sofa system that Antonio Citterio designed for B&B Italia: a completely new project created to continue and complete the journey started in 2018 with B&B Atoll.
Noonu is an upholstery system in which large sizes meet impressive flexibility. The supporting structure disappears from view, creating "islands" that seem to almost float, suspended in the air. The seats themselves are deep, with a single, large cushion that provides exceptional comfort, is inviting and relaxing, while also characterizing the overall aesthetic.

The reclining backrest has been designed to accommodate pillows that can be arranged in any way. The design is even more intriguing thanks to a supporting element that can be placed in any position: a roller cushion connected by a sophisticated tape to a die-cast aluminum frame located under the seat cushion.
Thanks to this, you can freely use it as the final element of an armrest or headrest, for reading or working, placed between the seats or completely removable, depending on how the sofa is used.
Noonu consists of four basic elements, namely a square and a rectangle, as well as completely new elements "piano" and "sail". The piano-shaped base creates a welcoming curve to the backrest, while the sail provides large, rounded volume at the front. Antonio Citterio designed them as "natural chaise longues", bold evolutions of the peninsula module, new organic forms created for total relaxation, just like the special areas of nature from which Noonu takes its name.
Each piece in the Noonu collection has a metal profile at its base made of curved, pre-shaped aluminum, a strip running along the entire circumference of the frame, defining it, available in a variety of finishes: light brushed, painted black chrome and painted pewter gray. The same finishes are also available for roller element supports.
Noonu will be launched in a new fabric in 12 color variants: solid colors and melanges of neutral tones, but also refined shades of blue, green, red and orange. These are bold, yet incredibly cozy shades, designed specifically to match the combination of the different elements of each individual composition (frame, cushions, bolsters), thus enabling a custom solution of unparalleled elegance.
