The Rivera collection suggests a contemporary interpretation of retro elegance reminiscent of a typical Mediterranean climate.
This project results from the desire to experiment with contrasts and unique combinations of materials for outdoor use - light metal, the calming warmth of wood, refined weaves and the incredible elegance of fabrics - all this makes that even outdoor spaces become intimate and cozy. A slim, handcrafted solid Iroko heartwood base supports a surrounding woven polypropylene fiber backrest, available in light gray and dark brown. Weaving with the "cannage" effect requires great skill and manual dexterity, as well as tireless, patient work. The Rivera collection includes a two-seater sofa and a three-seater sofa, armchairs, an ottoman, a coffee table and a chair that define retro elegance in a contemporary language, using innovative materials to evoke an experience reminiscent of a warm, typically Mediterranean setting, whether a lakeside veranda or a terrace with a view to the sea.
High-quality solid Iroko heartwood – widely appreciated for its durability and water resistance – adds enormous value to the base of Rivera's carefully hand-finished seating pieces. The unique shape of the cantilevered wooden frame, characteristic of the 98 cm deep armchair, as well as the two-seater sofa and three-seater sofa, allows it to be used as a table surface for glasses or other small items.
