Product description
The simple, slim trestle is doubled on the short sides of the desk. "Formal statement", repetition, doubling, reduction of the more compact, solid leg to the skeleton, to the edges, to its limits. Extending from the trestles are metal supports, also double and shaped like a broken line, which support a light, suspended top: a kind of covering over the head of a more solid, architectural base structure.
The entire geometry, along with its subtle relationships between the basic forms that make up this range, they are extremely sophisticated, super controlled, planned and have their own precise rules. As in ballet, where the apparent naturalness of steps and movements follows predetermined patterns that can be endlessly repeated ritually. Enclosures are also based on the idea of repetition. "Formal stuttering" intended to bring the observer back to sense and attention.
A repeated element in this case is the long, slender handle trimmed with saddle leather. Leather, black walnut and metal are the materials from which PASO DOBLE was created, a ballet of forms in which lightness and principles intersect constantly and without any mistakes.
