DIMMER
Not dimmable Designed in 1954 by the famous French master glassmaker and decorator Max Ingrand, this lamp was originally named 1853 and later Fontana, in tribute to the company whose master was the Director artistic for a decade. For design enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the brand's history, the year 1853 still remains something of a nickname. The first symbol of a timeless design object, still a bestseller and an evergreen design icon, Fontana is abat-jour par excellence. A characteristic feature of Fontana is multiple light sources: both the base and the lampshade contain one or more. The larger version also enables indirect lighting, thanks to an additional source that throws a beam of indirect light upwards. Diverse light sources allow you to meet different lighting needs: from a delicate, relaxing glow, through a sharp beam for reading, to suggestive ambient light. Also available with LED light sources. The gorgeous blown frosted white glass lamp, already reworked in an all-black variant, is now offered in a colorful and completely new version - light gray and amethyst purple - to emphasize the contemporary nature of the design. “Light and color are the most specific elements of nature. Thanks to them, we have RELIEF, MOVEMENT, LIFE," said Max Ingrand. “Actually, the history of architecture tells us what the role of illuminated, opaque, translucent color was in interior and exterior architecture (…) Light was no longer just a means to breathe life into color, but became a way to breathe life into all architecture.”
