Product description

Alchemie F is an LED floor lamp available to order. The opposition of light and dark, sun and moon is eternal, as part of the same stream of existence. The necessary relationship between two elements, each of which exists as a consequence of the other, has been given many allegorical meanings. The new Alchemie lamp, designed by Giulia Archimede for Catellani & Smith, explores this dimension whose elements are diametrically opposite, but always and forever connected. Alchemy is an exquisite sculpture composed of two disks: the first one, made of alabaster and illuminated by LEDs, remains stationary, while the second one glides on the base of the track made of Medea limestone. The interaction of light and shadow reaches its peak when the two disks overlap, almost mimicking an eclipse.
