Babele is a pendant lamp for direct light, made of turned aluminum and painted with various shades of mica on the outside and gold on the inside. Suspended on steel cables, produced in 3 diameters: Ø 45 cm, Ø 65 cm and Ø 92 cm.
Designed by Marc Sadler in 2005 for Martinelli Luce, the surface of the lamp is characterized by round ribs of different diameters arranged almost parallel to the plane describing the path: man's journey towards infinite light and truth, as opposed to a boring life. Babele has a strong personality that attracts attention and can fill a space.
A hanging luminaire providing direct light. The Babele lampshade has a spiral pattern in the shade itself and a textured mica-like finish. The inside of the blinds has a gold finish that provides a balance between the strong presence of shadow.
“Babele, like the Tower of Babel in the Bible, punished for the arrogance of wanting to touch the sky, and hence the confusion of languages that prevented people from communicating with each other. Instead, a beautiful "bell" that gives the impression of being forged by hand and which conceals new forms of contemporary social atmosphere.
