Tom Dixon Melt Pendant Copper
The shape of the lamp resembles a molten glass ball. A similar effect can be observed in the production of glass. The shape is irregular, which raises more curiosity. The lamp has two faces. When turned off, it looks like a classic copper lamp, it has all its charm when turned on. This makes the copper coating translucent and reveals the inside of the lamp. You can see a bulb obscured by a glass spider web. The whole thing looks like an element enclosed in a glass ball.
Shade diameter: 20 cm
Light source: 1 x E 27, MAX 30W.
Obsessed with creating an imperfect, organic and naturalistic lighting facility, Melt was created in collaboration with Front, a Swedish design collective. Melt is reminiscent of molten glass.
The stop lights are made by blow molding and vacuum metallization to produce fused spheres with high and extraordinary brightness. For several years, we have worked with some precursors of German engineering and manufacturing to develop these techniques and produce lamps that provide the latest glare and transparency.
