Product description

The tea trolley was inspired by the British tea culture that Aino and Alvar Aalto became familiar with during their many travels, as well as the Japanese woodwork and architecture that they admired. Thanks to the frame consisting of two birch loops, Tea Trolley 901 has two shelves and a solid birch handle. Twin wheels combined with the lightness of birch wood allow the stroller to be easily maneuvered and parked at any time. Many variations of the tea trolley have been produced over the years. Dutch designer and color expert Hella Jongerius delved into the Artek archives to present her own version of one of Alvar Aalto's most appreciated products. Her subtle interventions resulted in a light and dark version of the stroller, which plays with the changing light on the upper and lower shelves of the product.
This product is available in four different versions:
- Frame lacquered in a natural color, wheels lacquered in white, IKI shelves white HPL
- Naturally varnished frame, white lacquered wheels, black linoleum shelves
- Black lacquered frame, peat varnished wheels, lower shelf of charcoal linoleum, upper shelf of peat linoleum
