Nanda is a sideboard with hinged doors made of wood with a brass structure. Nanda is the first piece of the Parvati storage furniture collection, designed by Serena Confalonieri for MedulumJourney to India. On the path of Parvati, the fiancée of Shiva and the goddess of marriage, a benevolent figure worshiped by Hindu women who pay homage to her by wearing precious nose rings.
Collection - available in three different variants: Nanda, in a cabinet and Version with a chest of drawers, Uma sideboard - is distinguished by the use of wood with strong and lively nuances. The wood texture not only attracts the eye with its vibrant, multi-colored textures that hark back to the psychedelic culture of the 1960s: during this period, numerous artists traveled across India and immersed themselves in this multi-faceted and diverse culture, mixing back into the Western to create musical and artistic masterpieces. The compositional character of Parvati also identifies the goddess with the wife of Shiva and a symbol of marital devotion: to this day, Indian women pay tribute to her by wearing precious gold nose rings, jewelry with a strong symbolic meaning. Drawing inspiration from this aspect, the collection proposed by the brand has one more common aspect, the presence of a brass door handle: an episode of refined distinctiveness for a furniture collection with a unique and unique character.
