Product description
Maxalto's history of excellence continues in Tesaurus, a series of refined cabinets designed by Antonio Citterio. The shape emphasizes the high quality of workmanship, from the curved wooden doors that open to reveal slightly protruding shelves, to the continuous profile that follows the volume. Tesaurus is available in three different heights and widths, with two or four doors, with drawers and flap doors. The base is a die-cast aluminum structure borrowed from the design of the Caratos chair, while the element above is a top made of black Marquinia, white Calacatta or Emperador marble. The interiors are made of refined frisé maple. The craftsmanship is expressed in luxurious parchment or wood finishes. Veneered oak or Chilean Tineo wood is made with a checkerboard pattern with crossed grains. Parchment covering is a long and meticulous process that must be laid by specialized craftsmen trained to respect the properties of the natural material. Over time, the surface of the parchment matures, transforming like good wine and acquiring new, refined colors. With the complex, manual processes inherent in its manufacturing processes, the value of Tesaurus is immediately obvious. Each piece of this collection becomes a unique item, difficult to imitate and truly exclusive.
