Product description

Avola/B is a horizontal container with an MDF structure refined with matte black laminate and an external finish in the form of extra white glass with screen printing and reverse lacquering. Scratch-resistant base made of matt black lacquered steel. Recessed lighting option available.
The Greek threshold or meander is a decorative frame consisting of a continuous line folded into a repeating pattern often seen in archaeological finds in Sicily, from both the Greek and Roman periods.
The Avola family of containers re-appropriates this element and transforms it into a hypnotic pattern, repeated in a sequence of alternating color and black and white.
The decoration made by screen printing on glass covers both the cabinet frame and the door. This choice of surface finish is also inspired by tradition: verre paint, which dates back to the 16th century, is very common in Sicilian popular culture, where inverted images on glass depict miracles and sacred revelations of a deity breaking into everyday life.
