Designed by Shiro Kuramata, Bookshelf is a double-sided module made of white, matte lacquered panels. A special feature of this shelf is the varied size of the compartments, which perfectly reflects Kuramata's idea that the volume of space required by each item must be proportional to its dimensions.
In this piece, extreme visual lightness is combined with net solidity. Suitable for stand-alone use where it becomes almost sculptural, the Bookshelf can also become a continuous bookshelf when composed of multiple modules, or be used to divide space while allowing light and air to flow.
