Designed by Vico Magistretti, this shelf with simple, clean lines was the result of a detailed analysis of the classic model with side supports and shelves. This piece is a design icon, but also a real invention in terms of construction: the diagonal stiffening struts become the supporting structure and accommodate the shelves, eliminating the need for side supports.
Focusing on the hinges and six shelves, the structure, which can be folded, can be also serve as a room divider. Its elegant and primordial aesthetic, timeless and easy to read, has made Nuvola Rossa an undisputed design icon since 1977. It has been imitated several times as an example of simplified function achieved through the play of shapes.
