Product description

This solid wood console table was designed in 1947 and has been used in many projects, including the home of Ico Parisi.
The reissue's name is also a tribute to Parisi's nickname, PA', the beginning of his surname along with the letter accent , resulting in the diminutive of the word "father" in recognition of his role in leading the modern movement in Como.
The design idea was born from a few lines drawn on a piece of paper: a straight horizontal line and two diagonal lines that define a harmonious and taut structure with almost perfect proportions and an organic look. An image that can be compared to a foal ready for action, expressing the strength and tension of its tapering legs.
Its rectangular top has four straight slots near the tips on the two main sides into which, like real joints, the tips of the slender arms and the characteristic Y-shaped divergent legs are inserted and secured in pairs by a small crossbar. Its balance is enhanced by two diagonal, solid blocks rotated to create an organic form that, diagonally connected to a small crossbar, fits perfectly under the tabletop.
The parts connect with each other and dialogue in a fluid and continuous way, creating a refined and a well-balanced console table, immediately recognizable and perfect for all rooms in the house.
Cassina has respected and enhanced the origins of this project, applying the company's typical carpentry craftsmanship and industrial know-how, the same that it entrusted to Parisi.
Materials:
- frame in solid black stained ash or Canaletto walnut with a low gloss finish, top paneled with solid-edged panels and veneered in the same wood essence as the frame;
- brass metal parts , painted matt black (only in combination with black stained ash frame), brushed brass or brushed chrome.
