Product description
The Tangāli side table was part of the second set of products designed by Inoda + Sveje for the Tangāli collection, following the prototype bench and daybed that were created in 2018. The side table has been designed in such a way that it can be placed next to chairs from the Tangāli modular sofa set. It can also be used as a standalone table. The glass top has a brownish tint, and the woven cane shelf underneath can be used to place books and magazines. The cane is woven in the signature style of the Tangāli collection.
Finishes:
We offer this product in a Natural Teak or Dark Stain wood finish. For the Natural Teak finish, the wood is sanded smooth and a soft cloth is applied with a clear polishing compound and sealer to bring out the natural golden brown color of the teak. With Dark Stain, a layer of teak stain is hand-applied to give the wood a darker, deeper shade. Seeing the level of skill and dexterity of our reed weavers during their first visit in 2017, Inoda + Sveje forced our weavers to create patterns that are not traditional to Indian furniture, which is now the signature style of the Tangāli collection. The contours of the elements from this collection are entirely shaped by hand. We decided to name the collection after the cool monsoon breeze that accompanied their visit to Bangalore - Tangāli means cool breeze in Kannada (spoken locally in Bangalore, where the Phantom Hands workshop is located).
