Anthropomorphic figures or wooden blocks? Playing with perspective and optical illusions, Nathan Yong explores the softer and more relaxed side of the art of design. With a clear human approach, Faces tables reflect our desire to expose ourselves. Artistic and provocative, rooted in the essence of Sancala. Wanting to create functional tables, the designer departs from traditional aesthetics, reaching for unusual shapes that change their appearance depending on the viewing angle. In this sense, small details are not superfluous, as they add volume and allow Faces to move from an animated object to an abstract work. In addition to the side table's conventional function - as a support or pedestal for plants or lamps - the warmth provided by its wooden body and the playfulness of its humanized shape remind us of the importance of the well-being that interior design and furniture can evoke. Made of oak, the wood grain adds texture and definition. A range of stain colors can add even more character if you use a vibrant palette, or create a more understated element if you choose natural shades. Either way, it is undoubtedly an artistic work. A joyful and fun design that celebrates the sense of creativity in its purest form, without limits.
