Product description
It's a classic among classics. Its brilliantly proportioned, distinctive form made this height-adjustable table one of the most popular design icons of the 20th century. The name comes from the house E 1027 "Maison en bord de mer", which Eileen Gray built for herself and her partner, Jean Badovici. Also the code name comes from: E stands for Eileen, 10 stands for Jean (J is the 10th letter of the alphabet), 2 stands for B(adovici) and 7 stands for G(ray). In the 1920s, Eileen Gray experimented with different versions of the design of the E 1027 adjustable table. Changing the look of the table with a black metal top as an alternative to the crystal glass top, she also chose a black frame. The matte black of the coating clearly highlights the lines of the table and its form - a version that she found particularly elegant. Eileen Gray developed her E 1027 adjustable table with Zeev Aram for production in the 1970s; both decided to produce a chrome version first, with the intention of introducing a black table frame at a later date.
Side table. Height-adjustable frame, steel tube, powder-coated black. Top in clear crystal glass or gray smoked glass or black lacquered metal.
